About Us

SMILE is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization providing comprehensive social services for the poor urban communities in Passaic County, New Jersey.

SMILE’s relief programs provide a free food pantry and health clinic. The food pantry aims to help families obtain nutritious and healthy grocery items and extend their dollar on other household expenses. The free health clinic allows families to receive a free check-up and even some specialty services such as dentistry, optometry, etc. The goal is provide essential health services where healthcare costs are prohibitively expensive.

SMILE also provides social programs for adults and the youth. Adult programs provide individuals the tools they need to prosper despite the circumstances. Programs include fatherhood mentoring, resume writing, job interview workshops, etc. Our youth programs are geared towards fostering a sense of creativity and wonder in young minds at the same time grooming the youth to take leadership of their future families and community. Youth programs include after-school tutoring, art therapy, martial arts, museum trips, nature hikes, etc.

Our supporters are encouraged to donate in all areas of our operations. Donors can provide support with money, food, health clinic supplies, etc. In addition, donors are encouraged to provide moral support by donating their time, skills, services, ideas and suggestions.
