SMILE Art Internship
JOB DESCRIPTION: Art interns at SMILE will have the opportunity to apply their artistic abilities and help develop SMILE’s arts & creativity programs. Interns will have a hands-on experience helping SMILE curate a part-time art gallery, manage silent auctions, promoting events, and assisting in creative arts workshops.
QUALIFICATIONS: Successful candidates must possess and/or demonstrate the following qualities:
- Some formal training in creative arts;
- Enthusiastic and inspired by creativity;
- Have a portfolio of previous art works;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Ability to work in groups and independently; and
- Highly motivated and passionate about the program.
Candidates must also make their own transportation arrangements to and from the SMILE office in Passaic.
DURATION: Internships at SMILE are ongoing year round. However, each candidate is limited to a 3-month program. Candidates may re-new or re-apply for an additional 3 months in certain situations.
HOURS: SMILE has a flexible schedule for interns around their school or work schedule. Interns are requested to contribute at least 8 hours per week and at most 20 hours per week during the 3-month program. Interns may be required to attend additional meetings or events outside of regular office hours.
COMPENSATION: This internship is unpaid. SMILE can also provide school credit for internship hours.
